The Last Farm Dinner of 2024 – November 9, 2024

Another sold out dinner experience with a perfect weather. Guests were greeted with the last muscadines of the season from nearby LoveJoy farms used to make a muscadine mohito with fresh local mint, muscadines, fresh squeezed limes, gin and simple syrup. Clark Bennett joined us to play some amazing accoustic guitar before dinner. After the tours, dinner started and the temperature dropped fast. Luckily we had blankets and jackets to keep everyone warm. Everyone enjoyed karen Fried Pies with local sweet potatoes. As the sky darkened, the magical lights kept the atmosphere festive and several stayed after to enjoy the firepit.

A Beautiful Day at Montgomery Sheep Farm – November 2, 2024

Just three days before the national election, nearly 50 guests took a well-deserved break from the relentless news cycle and gathered at Montgomery Sheep Farm in Biscoe, NC, for a truly special farm experience. The day was filled with good company, local flavors, and a glimpse into the future of sustainable agriculture.

The weather was perfect: by 3 pm, the clouds parted and the sun emerged to welcome guests, who were greeted with a refreshing apple cider margarita. Local neighbors from Candor, Denton, Troy, and Pinehurst mingled with visitors from Charlotte and Raleigh, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a day to connect, learn, and relax—something we all needed before the hectic days ahead.

Guests toured the farm’s facilities, getting an up-close look at sustainable farming practices and our solar farm. We’re proud to be part of a growing movement towards cleaner, more responsible farming, and it was great to share that with our visitors.

After the tour, Chef Donald Irish treated everyone to a mouthwatering 4-course meal featuring locally raised lamb, including lamb shanks, lamb shoulder, and Sun Raised Foods lamb salami. For dessert, local sweet potato fried pies were the perfect finish to the meal.

As the evening came to a close, some guests chose to head home, while others gathered around the fire pit to enjoy the crisp fall night sky, share stories, and soak in the stars.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable day! Your presence, enthusiasm, and support mean the world to us. We look forward to welcoming you all back in the future.

Stay tuned for more events and updates from Montgomery Sheep Farm!

April 20th, 2024 Montgomery Sheep Farm, Biscoe, NC

Talk about witnessing the awesome power of mother nature! After 6 events with perfect weather over the past two years, more than 45 guests shared an experience that few will ever forget! There was no rain in the forecast but out of the blue thunder clouds darkened the horizon and then one golf ball size chunk of ice hit the roof of the transport. “Strange” we all thought as we drove back towards the farm lodge, then mother nature whipped up an incredible hailstorm as the tour trailer raced for cover in the lambing barn.

The experience was educational, adventurous, and ended with a fantastic meal prepared by Chef Will Bayrd and fellowship around a fire pit. In a world where fast-paced lifestyles often disconnect us from where our food comes from and the knowledge of what’s in it, it was great to meet so many people who care about the journey of their food from farm to table.  Your presence here was a testament to that care, and for that, we are truly thankful.
