On July 11th BCBSNC and EducationNC hosted an event with community leaders from Montgomery County, NC at the Montgomery Sheep Farm.

On July 11th, Sun Raised Foods hosted a BlueCross BlueShieldNC & EducationNC community meeting at Montgomery Sheep Farm. Community leaders and members enjoyed the chance to meet and share their voices with the leadership team of BCBSNC.

Attendees first enjoyed a tour of the 123 acre solar farm. And then sat down to a three course dinner including a Charcuterie board made with our 100% lamb salami, leg steak kabobs served with couscous and fresh vegetables from our farm! Dessert was a Blueberry cobbler made with fresh blueberries picked that morning from the farm.

According to Mitch Perry, CFO at BCBSNC, “Just over a decade ago, @Blue Cross NC made an investment in solar energy and Montgomery County’s future.” Investments such as the Montgomery Solar Farm result in financial returns that can lead to lower premiums for our customers.
